[ Exactly five minutes later, something happens. The five minutes were spent googling and then calibrating that fancy remote and --
It ends up close to the droid, actually. It's not like the sky tears, but there's a burst of a rainbow -- an actual rainbow portal -- and out steps... Woden, of course. ]
Now I don't know where you came from, but I was just in Herons.
[ A rainbow, of course. He had been reading about Norse, and Old English mythologies (because, you know, why not), and that's a nice touch.
But overall, this was actually very impressive. He's already thought of the possibility of this being an ability to teleport rather than something invented, but he doesn't find it very likely (12.9% likely).
Kay shifts his posture, tilting close a little bit, and glances up and down at Woden. ]
... Very impressive.
[ Despite his default tone usually sounding brutally sarcastic, he genuinely means this. ]
No one from my galaxy has figured out teleportation, let alone near instantaneous.
aaah thank you for your patience! Just rolled back into town! also that typo 8'|
[ Well, he's in good company, being with a somehow British robot. ]
It depends on the route, and class of hyperdrive, but at the very most, travelling the span of my known galaxy- approximately 120,000 light years- would take a few days. A high class hyperdrive with a plotted course and minimal obstructions could take only a few hours to travel that same distance.
That's pretty fast. I don't know if I can outdo that without a little more to go off of.
[ Figuratively speaking. ]
That's not bad, though, sounds like a high class hyperdrive is what you need. [ A beat, because it's funny: ] Nobody likes a hyperdrive that breaks down all the time.
If it's a byproduct of being on your home world, then it's possible that your expiration date would either reset, or not exist entirely. You could live longer. Is there any way you can tell?

[ An image is attached. That image looks like... Kind of a little remote. . It does not control any TV, unsurprisingly. ]
Give me a location and meet me there in 5 minutes..
no subject
[ ...he was at work. And basically already there. ]

[ Said the nineteen year old genius with a divine power. ]
Then again, you're using galaxy. Space differential and physics differentials are a given.
[ His head tipped, and behind him, the rainbow bridge -- or the best approximation he can create -- dissipated. ]
They do...what? Intergalactic travel? [ He hasn't observed the details, yet, but he's getting there. ]
np!!
[ Now these are things he can answer with more confidence, than knowing the coolest nightclub around. ]
For intergalactic travel, starships are used. Hyperdrive is essential for intergalactic travel, or we'd all be taking years to get to one another.

[ Woden is a smart kid. He's intelligent enough that he can start putting things together, and start stringing terms together. A British teen?
Of fucking course he knows what Sci-fi stuff sounds like. ]
Slow, then. How long does your...hyperdrive take?

[ Somehow, surely Han even without being Force Sensitive, can feel the disturbance of Kay talking shit about him. ]
Wait. Would you... be able to make one? A hyperdrive?
[ Because that would change everything. ]
no subject
[ He admitted, with a shrug. ]
Although I doubt it's out of my capability. It's just not something I've ever wanted to do. Kind of hard when you're only going to live for two years.

Well, at this point, one. But that's back home, not here.

Trust me, I'm just a little bit excited.
no subject
[ Hold back on that enthusiasm there, Kay. ]
What do you intend to do with that device you've invented? Sell it? Make more? Personal use?
no subject
[ But then, he slipped the Bifrost away -- where it went was unclear, but it wasn't present. No superpowers, just clever use of pockets. ]
It's for me. I can't get anywhere when I need to on time without it. [ A beat. ] I like showing up unexpectedly.
no subject
[wow that was a little brutal even for him.]
I assume as a god here, you'll want to establish yourself and be... worshiped, yes?
no subject
[ He paused, then. ] It's not quite so simple as worship. It's... the Valkyries will do all the work to get the adulation. I'm just...happy to help.
no subject
[ And actually, he appreciates that. Relates to it, in a way. ]
I have the impression that you're lying, but I also don't know you enough to tell. So I'll accept that answer. What do the Valkyries do?
no subject
[ He does, but only because he wants nobody to like him. ]
They sing, fight, guard Valhalla...
All-purpose, and gorgeous to top it all off. The complete package.
no subject
And that explains why you are looking for women who can sing. You don't have Valkyries here yet.
no subject
[ Tall. Asian. Yeah. That's a thing. ]
But we'll re-establish ourselves. These things take time. And money, of course. Parts aren't exactly thrift-store buys.
no subject
[YEAH, HE'S ASKING. Just get it out of the way, Woden.]
No, they aren't. You're going to need more expensive and intricate equipment. Not easily obtained without the right connections.
[Not that he has the right connections right now.]
I'll see who I can find.
[Is this an offer, out of friendship-]
I want to see what else you can do.
[Nah, it's mostly selfish. But Woden can probably respect that.]
